Football League World’s Derby fan pundit, Shaun, has shared their thoughts on whether they would like to see Clark move to the club permanently in the summer, and whether he’s an affordable target for the Rams.
Shaun said: "I would love us to try and make Bobby Clark a permanent signing in the summer. I just think he might be out of our price range at the moment.
"I think they’ll probably be looking for £5-10 million for him. And also, depending on his ambition, he’ll probably want to go to a Premier League side. And I wouldn’t blame him either.
"I think he’s thrived at Derby this season. He’s got better as the season’s gone on. He’s a really exciting prospect. He’s only going to get better as he gets older and plays with better players.
"So yeah, I’d love to see us get in permanently, but I don’t think it will happen. And I think we should probably be prepared for that. And I think Sammie Szmodics could fit into that role if Bobby Clark leaves. And then I do think maybe having the two of them on the same side for balance isn’t the best thing.
“So I think actually long term, Szmodics could be a good option in there, but I would love to have seen this get Clark. But I do think he’s got a brighter future than Derby, as much as I hate to say that, being a Derby fan. So yeah, he’s been excellent for us. And like I said, I don’t think we’re going to be able to afford him.”
