The fans here are aware of the Red Bull model and the priority that is placed on player development throughout all of the clubs.
MLS is a unique league with the salary cap and weird squad rules (Designated Player, allocation money, college draft), that help foster parity. There are ways to spend a good chunk of money outside of the salary cap, look at Atlanta United or Los Angeles Galaxy, etc., but Red Bull doesn’t have any interest in doing that here in North America any longer.
I think most fans have accepted the conditions of being owned by RB, but even with those constraints want the team to prove that they are interested in more than just player development. Like was mentioned the average age of the squad is very young, and the caliber of young player is obviously not on the level of Salzburg, Bragantino, or Leipzig, not that we expect it to be.
It’s hard to argue that they couldn’t be doing a little more, signing some young players with more professional experience or mixing in some veterans to balance the squad. It’s not easy to win with such inexperience unless the talent level and coaching make a big difference, right now that isn’t the case.
