And speaking on Salzburg’s Podcast dubbed “Pressing Questions”, Mwepu revealed that he and Daka had already held a conversation over the latter’s imminent transfer and were dreaming of coming up against each other as opponents in competitive action as opposed to their usual tussles at the training ground.
“I think I see it [Daka leaving Salzing] coming, we have been with him for a long time,
“I think it’s the right time that we see each other in a different team, we already talked about that,” he said.
“I said to him ‘if we play against each other I am going to kick your a** off’ in competition” said a giggly Mwepu.
Mwepu moved to Salzburg in 2017 shortly after starring at the 2017 Under-20 AFCON to join Daka at the Austrian champions’ feeder club, FC Liefering, before the duo graduated to join the main team after over a year at the club.
Now after over four years Austria, the former Kafue Celtic duo are now bracing themselves for their potential upcoming split up.
“I think ever since we got here we have always encouraged each other and told each other to stay focused, work hard and push more, the most important thing is how you begin,
“Hopefully, we will see what will happen in future but if it happens that we go the same club again it would be nice” Mwepu added.
